Dinner for Two

Lisa and John are both getting ready for a very important date. John has spent the entire evening preparing dinner, and Lisa has been dressing up for hours. When it comes time to finally sit down at the table, John has a lot of expectations for Lisa. However, Lisa has some plans of her own.

Behind the Story

Dinner for Two was inspired by other popular psychological thrillers. The whole idea of the story is to gradually build suspense through John and Lisa preparing so intensely and purposefully for their date. It is supposed to appear that John and Lisa are in separate houses the entire time, getting ready to meet up. However, the real sinister aspect of the story is only apparent right at the end when the tension finally releases and John is shown unlocking the door to Lisa's room in which she is being held captive. At that point, little things that have been present throughout the film are intended to appear creepy and sinister, such as John meticulously checking his reflection and wearing latex gloves during cooking.
